Good news: Hasbro officially unveiled their first toys tying in to this summer’s Ant-Man and the Wasp movie this week. Bad news (from a certain point of view): None of those toys are 6″ Marvel Legends figures. We’re going to be waiting a bit longer (likely until New York Toy Fair 2018 in two weeks) to see what Hasbro has in store for adult collectors as far as Ant-Man & Wasp movie toys go, but in the meantime, let’s take a look at the Titan Hero figures, role-play items and 12″ action figures that are on the way…

Although the kid-friendly, low-priced Marvel Titan Hero Series 12″ figures are not exactly the cup of tea of most adult collectors, the line has continued to prove successful, and Hasbro has really upped their game with recent electronic releases in the series (including last year’s awesome Civil War Falcon). And this year, it’s Star-Lord’s turn to get the deluxe electronic treatment! Earlier this month we got our first gander at the first wave of 2017 Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy 6″ figures (including the Angela figure two years in the making!). But the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 movie is a pretty big deal, and that means Hasbro has a lot more in store for the franchise than six inch collector figures! And among the offerings are an extension of a niche line with more collectors than you might expect: the Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Titan Hero 2017 12″ figures!

As much faith as I have in most of Hasbro’s Marvel toy lines, if there’s one Hasbro Marvel action figure line I wouldn’t buy based solely off the official photos, it’s the Titan Hero Series. So even though the Civil War Titan Hero Falcon and War Machine figures went up for order online a few days ago, there was no way I was picking them up without seeing them in person. But to my delight, I saw both 12″ figures locally today–and they may be the best Titan Heroes ever!
