Earlier this week, pre-orders popped up half-expectedly for the 2016 Marvel Legends Spider-Man Absorbing Man series. At the time, we only had grainy, low-res images to make our ordering decisions based on. But if you were waiting for hi-res photos to make up your mind, Hasbro has now sent out gorgeous official images of the whole wave! It’s been a long wait since the series was revealed at SDCC 2015 back in July, but the time has come at last: the first wave of Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2016 figures is now available for order! Sometimes we have to wait until January to roll around to get our first batch of a new year’s Hasbro Marvel Legends 6″ figures, and sometimes we do not. 2015 has been a downright incredible year for Marvel Legends collectors, no doubt about it. With the recent releases of the Target 3-Pack and Walgreens First Appearance Daredevil exclusives, all of the 2015 Marvel Legends 6″ figures that had been scheduled have now been released. But don’t get too comfortable, Marvel collectors! While we’ve still likely got 6-8 weeks before they begin to arrive in the United States (less if Hasbro wants to rush them for Christmas), photos have leaked out of the factories in China giving us our first look at next year’s packaging and the final finished figures composing the 2016 Marvel Legends Captain America Civil War and Spider-Man series!

The Spider-Man Marvel Legends Rhino Series is one of my favorite Hasbro Marvel Legends 6″ series ever, as it’s filling in character gaps both vital (Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider, Chameleon) and ridiculously obscure. Now that we’ve hit the slow season between SDCC 2015 and NYCC 2015, it’s time to backtrack and discuss some upcoming items that I didn’t give their due to right away. And the biggest of those news items is the first major wave of Marvel Legends 2016 figures: the Marvel Legends Captain America Civil War wave! 2015 has been an excellent “make-good” year for previously-canceled Hasbro Marvel action figures.
