If there’s one thing that you can always find space for in your home (assuming you want to), it’s more Marvel Minimates! And after last year’s successful set of Minimates Marvel Zombies Villains (gotta love Zombie Galactus), Diamond Select Toys is ready to let the zombified villains of Earth-2149 run wild once again! Coming in time for Halloween 2014–the Marvel Minimates Villain Zombies Box Set #2 is now up for order!

While there’s ample hype for this summer’s Guardians of the Galaxy movie, the most talked-about and most-anticipated figure in the Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends Infinite Series isn’t from the movie at all! In fact, it’s not even a character new to Hasbro Marvel Legends. Instead, it’s the star of the most successful cosmic Marvel comic of the past decade.
The last basic figure in this series left for me to review is the Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy Nova figure!

If there’s one thing that we’ve learned to count on for each and every Marvel movie that gets released, it’s a corresponding series of Diamond Select Toys’ Marvel Minimates figures! Oftentimes the Minimates series may miss the premiere of the movie it’s tied into, but we’ve grown accustomed to getting movie Minimates without fail (eventually). Toys R Us used to almost always have their own remixed exclusive wave of movie Minimates, but they’ve cut way back in recent years. However, Toys R Us did invest in their own exclusive Amazing Spider-Man 2 Minimates series, and it has now arrived in stores!

I have not exactly been gushing with praise in my reviews of the Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends figures thus far, but lest anyone think that I’m totally unhappy with the series, it’s time to talk about one of the figures in the series that’s good. Really good. And it’s lucky that he’s really good, because we’re going to be seeing a lot of him, as he’s heavy-packed at two-per-case!
Peter Quill, the Prince of Spartax, has arrived–it’s the first-ever 6″ Hasbro Marvel Legends Starlord figure!

The first three figures I’ve talked about in the Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy Infinite Series have been mostly a mixed bag, and today’s figure will be more of the same. Though she’s been a staple of the Marvel cosmic universe for decades and a key member of teams like the Infinity Watch and the Guardians of the Galaxy, Gamora has never had a major figure release before (Minimates doesn’t count, sorry). But that’s all about to change, and Gamora is (hopefully) about to enter the upper-echelon of recognizable Marvel females! The Marvel Legends Gamora figure is the most high-end Gamora (for now)–unfortunately, it’s rather mediocre…

I’ve had a Rocket Raccoon image as part of the site header since Marvel Toy News launched, so I haven’t been keeping my affinity for Marvel’s cutest superhero a secret. Me and Rocky (we’re on a first name basis) are pretty tight, so I’ve been looking forward to the Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends Rocket Raccoon movie figure ever since the movie was announced. Unfortunately, Hasbro often doesn’t do smaller characters like Rocket Raccoon justice, and the new Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy Rocket Raccoon is a bit of a dud and continues that trend…

Just when Marvel Legends fans thought they were safe… he’s back! If there’s one character that Marvel collectors were reasonably certain would not show his armored face as part of the Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Legends series, it’s Iron Man. But, well… here is. To Hasbro’s credit, they did choose an Iron Man armor that’s strongly linked to the GOTG, however. For better or worse, we’re stuck with Marvel Legends Cosmic Iron Man, so let’s take a look at the final production version of the figure and see if it’s any good…

Last week word broke (fresh from Japan!) that we were getting a quasi-unexpected Marvel Legends X-Men Infinite Series this summer! Sweetening the deal, the long-lost (and much-wanted) first-ever Jubilee Build-A-Figure has been moved from last year’s cancelled Marvel Legends wave to this new X-Men Legends wave!
I was wondering why we hadn’t heard about these figures sooner, though, and now we know why–the X-Men Marvel Legends figures are a Toys R Us exclusive series…

I was a Guardians of the Galaxy fan before the Guardians of the Galaxy were cool. Well, actually, I’m not sure that the Guardians of the Galaxy are even “cool” now, but they’re at least poised to become recognizable mainstream superheroes due to this year’s upcoming Guardians of the Galaxy movie. Anyway, the point is that I’m a huge Guardians of the Galaxy fanboy. So it is with a ton of excitement and pleasure that I get to show off the first production photos of the actual 6″ Hasbro Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy figures, beginning with Drax the Destroyer!

At this point, I’ve come to realize that virtually every company that’s ever made a sculpt for the Iron Man Mark VII armor is going to do a money-grab by repainting that item gold and calling it Midas Iron Man. Don’t fight it–just accept it.
And the latest company to cash in on their old Revoltech Iron Man Mark VII figure sculpt is Kaiyodo! Coming this fall–the Revoltech Iron Man Mark XXI figure is now up for order!

While it initially looked like The Falcon was going to get a bit of a bum deal when it came to Captain America The Winter Soldier toys, things have turned out pretty smashing for ol’ Sam Wilson in the end. While a Marvel Legends Falcon figure doesn’t seem to be in the cards, there’s an outstanding Marvel Select Falcon figure, a fun Marvel Minimates Falcon, and even a halfway decent 4″ Falcon Hasbro figure. But now the crown jewel of any Falcon collection has been fully revealed and is ready to claim its rightful spot atop the mountain–the Hot Toys Falcon figure is now up for order!

Some characters get more merch than others, whereas some characters only get merch on a cold day in Hel. And no, that’s not a type-o, as today I’m referring to the Asgardian ruler of Niffleheim and Hel itself: Hela! I’ve been both anticipating and dreading the release of the Bowen Designs Hela statue, as its arrival would mean that there was only one more Bowen Marvel statue on the way (perhaps forever). The day has come, though, and while the potential end of the Marvel Bowen Designs line still makes me nervous, the Bowen Hela statue is one glorious piece…

As a big anime fan and anime figure collector, the annual Bandai Tamashii Nations collector events are some of my favorite occasions to look forward to. Usually I’m looking forward to these shows for news on Gundam or One Piece or Dragon Ball Z, but the last few years Bandai has also had a slight Marvel presence. And at this weekend’s Bandai Tamshii Nations Summer 2014 Collection event, they finally debuted their first two figures from Iron Man 3: the SH Figuarts Iron Patriot and Iron Man Mark 42 figures!

After getting off to an extremely slow start (as in “I’ve yet to even see one figure in a physical retail store”), Hasbro is apparently getting ready to give a major push to their 4″ Marvel Infinite Series figures line, the 2014 Marvel Universe successor. Just this past week we got our first glimpse of Marvel Infinite Series Wave 3, and now Marvel Infinite Series Wave 4 is already announced and up for pre-order! Don’t get too excited, though. Hasbro Marvel Infinite Series Wave 4 sounds pretty uninspired–to say the least…

Funko is the uncrowned king of toy exclusives in the modern day collecting world, so it should surprise no one that yet another unannounced Funko Marvel POP! Vinyls figure has now appeared. What may surprise some folks, however, is where, as the latest Marvel Funko POP! Vinyl has turned up only in Japan!
But if you want this exclusive Funko Metallic Amazing Spider-Man 2 POP! Vinyl figure, you may have to not only travel to Japan, but travel back in time as well…
