Polaris is another one of those X-Men characters who’s had a pretty rough time over the years. She’s been a hero, she’s been a villain. She’s been crazy, she’s been not crazy. Sometimes she’s even Magneto’s daughter! But one thing … Continue Reading →
Bandai Japan announced that they had acquired the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 license a few months back, but I started getting a little fidgety wondering if they were actually going to use it when April arrived and we hadn’t seen a single prototype. But while there’s still no word on what characters will be in the S.H. Figuarts GOTG Vol. 2 lineup, we at least know one figure that is on the way: the SH Figuarts Star-Lord figure has now been revealed!

Alas, poor Sunfire! Back in the day, when Marvel first created the Big Hero 6, Sunfire was the headliner character placed on the team to lure fans in to reading the comic book. And now…? Now the rest of the Big Hero 6 team members are known and loved worldwide because of the movie, while Sunfire remains in relative obscurity. But at least Sunfire has something the rest of Big Hero Six never will–a Marvel Legends Sunfire figure in the X-Men Legends series that’s now up for order!

UPDATE 4/8/2017: We weren’t absolutely sure until it happened, but the Bandai S.H. Figuarts Spider-Man Homecoming figure is now up for order in the U.S.! Say what you will about Spider-Man’s most popular villain, but no one can call him under merchandised, that’s for sure. In just the past year, Venom has gotten two Marvel Legends action figures and high-end statues from Sideshow Collectibles, XM Studios, Prime 1 Studio and Gentle Giant Ltd. And now, we can add one more piece to the growing list–the Kotobukiya Venom ARTFX+ statue is now up for order!

We’re officially under one month away from the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 movie hitting theaters–but only one week away from the deadline to order the Funko Marvel Collector Corps GOTG Vol. 2 Box! Funko has been pretty tight-lipped about the contents of this box since it was announced in February, but we got a major hint today. And by “hint”, I mean “complete spoilers for the exclusive POP Vinyl figure included”! It’s a cutie, but I suspect this choice will be a divisive one…

Square-Enix caught me off-guard at New York Toy Fair 2017 when they revealed two new unpainted prototypes from a figure line I legit thought was dead: the Marvel Play Arts Kai Variant series! We haven’t had any updates on either figure since they debuted at the show–at least, not until one was solicited for pre-order today! The most iconic X-Men villain of all-time is on the way-–Marvel Play Arts Kai Magneto is now up for order!

At this point in my collecting life, I thought that I already had just about every Iron Man figure repaint that I’ll ever need (though I will most certainly find space for more Hot Toys Iron Man House Party Protocol armors, should Hot Toys ever get around to releasing them). And then, Bandai had to go and announce this little gem. It may just be a repaint of the Iron Man Mark III armor, but the SH Figuarts Iron Man Age of Heroes Event Commemorative Color Version, but this is basically the Marvel Puzzle Quest Iron Man in perfect action figure form, making it a must-have for me…

Ever since Hasbro revived the Marvel Legends 6″ figures line, we’ve gotten comfortable with the pattern of figures going up for pre-order 1-2 months before shipping. That’s why many collectors were thrown for a loop when this year’s X-Men Legends started hitting stores a month and a half before online retailers! But have no fear, the time has come: the Marvel Legends X-Men Warlock Series is now up for order online!

Last year’s inaugural wave of X-Men Marvel Legends figures brought with it a new version of the patriarch of X-Force, Cable, and if the second wave is any indicator, it looks like we may get one member of X-Force in future waves as well. Marvel Legends Shatterstar (and the rest of the X-Men Legends Series) are finally available online–and once you get him, you’ll have the best toy of the character ever…

At SDCC 2016, Hasbro challenged the boundaries of what many collectors believed it was possible for a toy company to release at mass retail with one action figure announcement: Disco Dazzler. While most people thought that if we ever got a Dazzler figure, it would be some sort of exclusive, that perception was shattered when she was placed in the mass market X-Men Warlock Series. The Marvel Legends Dazzler figure is currently selling for a couple bucks over retail–is she worth the extra dollars?

Back in the day, we used to get at least one Gentle Giant Premier Guild Gift from a variety of franchises (even Harry Potter!). But for the last few years, it’s been all Star Wars, all the time for PGM gifts. But this year, the Gentle Giant Ltd. gods have smiled upon Marvel collectors again, and have an exclusive Marvel mini bust lined up as a Premier Guild Membership gift once again: the exclusive Gentle Giant Old Man Logan mini bust has now been revealed!

Although some of the very first photos that I uploaded to the site from New York Toy Fair 2017 last month were of the newly-revealed Kotobukiya Ms. Marvel Bishoujo statue, I got sidetracked and never went back to really talk about the figure. Let’s take a look at the very first statue of one of Marvel’s most popular young heroes…
