2016 LEGO Civil War Sets Revealed

Obviously I went and jinxed myself by making the assertion that this was going to be a slow Marvel toy news week because of the release of Star Wars, because now I’m getting positively slammed with new photos, news and pre-orders for all manner of Marvel toys! And the latest news to leak out continues the trend of early-announced Captain America: Civil War movie toys–this time, in brick form! They won’t be out for a few months yet, but the 2016 LEGO Marvel Civil War sets have now been revealed–including a mega Giant-Man figure!

As I was getting ready for bed last night at my usual 4AM bedtime, I glanced at my Facebook Newsfeed briefly and was a bit taken aback to see a post by Hot Toys with a mega-sized image of Deadpool’s mask on it. Diamond Select Toys drew first blood with their Lady Thor Minimates figure earlier this year, and now they’re turning to the statue front: the Lady Thor Femme Fatales statue is now up for order!

Marvel Select Civil War Winter Soldier Figure Silhouette

When Diamond Select Toys opted to release a comics-based Marvel Select Winter Soldier figure back in 2014 instead of a movie-based version of the character to coincide with the release of the “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” movie, there was much whining to be heard throughout the Marvel Figure Collecting Land. But next year, DST is finally giving those fans what they want: the Marvel Select Captain America Civil War figures are now up for order, and they include movie-based Bucky Barnes, Captain America and Iron Man Mark 45 figures!

Returning home from a little bit of late holiday shopping, I discovered what just may constitute a Christmas miracle: UPS had made a Sunday morning delivery of my December 2015 Funko Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Collector Corps Box!

I’d heard some early criticism about the contents of this box, so I was skeptical, but after unboxing the Guardians of the Galaxy box, this turns out to be my favorite Collectors Corps box so far…

Funko Deadpool POP Vinyl Thumbs Up

Artwork of unreleased Deadpool Funko POP Vinyls and tales of a Funko “Pirate Deadpool” vinyl have been floating around the net for quite a while now.

But this week, Funko decided to let the Wade Wilsons out of the bag (or I guess boxes, in this case), as a variety of new Funko POP Deadpool vinyls and a Pirate Deadpool Dorbz are now up for order!

Funko Deadpool Mopeez Plush

I’ve known it intellectually for a while, but due to the lack of fanfare and almost total absence of merchandising, it hadn’t really clicked in my head until recently that “Deadpool” was the next Marvel movie hitting theaters!

But one company that absolutely did not forget is Funko, and they’re now unleashed a variety of pre-orders for items ranging from Deadpool Mopeez plushies to ceramic head mugs!

Sideshow Premium Format Green Goblin Figure Announced

Though he’s typically considered to be Spider-Man’s greatest villain because of that one thing he did over 40 years ago, I am not now, nor have I ever been, a Green Goblin guy. But with merch like this, maybe I could learn to be!

I had zero expectations for the Sideshow Premium Format Green Goblin statue that went up for order today, but this loftily-priced piece is one of Sideshow’s most dynamic and incredible-looking Marvel statues ever…

Iron Man 2 War Machine Die-Cast Sixth Scale Figure Hot Toys

After being one of the more expensive and sought-after Marvel Hot Toys sixth scale figures for years, the market has crashed on the Iron Man 2 War Machine MMS 120. That figure itself is still an excellent release, but the demand for that figure fell off a cliff after Hot Toys announced a die-cast version last month.

And now, the superior remake is officially on the way–the Hot Toys Iron Man 2 Die-Cast War Machine is now up for order!

Iron Man Gamma Hot Toys Exclusive Figure MMS

As soon as Hot Toys revealed the Striker Iron Man sixth scale figure almost a full year ago, I started counting down the days until they announced its Jade Giant-inspired upgraded armor as a limited exclusive repaint (because let’s face it–there’s no way Hot Toys would skip out on a chance to release an awesome figure with no new tooling). And while 354 days is substantially longer than I expected, the destined time has come at last: the exclusive Hot Toys Gamma Iron Man figure is now up for order!
