Thus far it’s been a pretty quiet Marvel toy news week while we wait to ring in the new year, but we’re not quite out of topics to talk about yet! And so, today I’ll be discussing the silhouettes (no, really, they’re just shaded-in silhouettes) that both Guardians of the Galaxy collectors and Marvel Select action figure fans have been waiting for: the 2017 Marvel Select Star-Lord & Rocket Raccoon and Drax & Baby Groot figures are now up for order!

With production costs of high-end statues exploding over the past few years, Sideshow Collectibles has wisely began producing new statue lines that are slightly smaller and way cheaper than their beloved, long-running 1/4 Premium Format Figures series. Iron Man kicked off the Avengers Assemble 1/5 series of statues last month, and Tony won’t have to wait long for some camaraderie: the Sideshow Exclusive Captain America statue is now up for order!

Ever since the first photo leaked of the back of the Kamala Khan POP Vinyl’s box, we’ve known that a number of classic Marvel comics characters (who just happen to be starring in their own TV Series in 2017) would be joining the POP Vinyls lineup. We just didn’t know when or where they’d be coming–until now! The Previews Exclusive Funko Luke Cage, Iron Fist and Black Bolt POP Vinyls are now up for order!

Given the insatiable demand for Deadpool, I still don’t know if these are going to be enough, but for now, Marvel Legends 6″ Deadpool is finally in-stock as a single figure online!

Sideshow blindsided everyone when they made their biggest Marvel New York Comic-Con reveal of all-time back in October: new Premium Format Carnage and Venom statues scheduled for release in 2017! The main goal of Marvel Toy News as a website is to be an comprehensive in discussing as many aspects of Marvel toy collecting as possible, so when we get requests for coverage of a new line, I take notice. Such is the case with a line that wasn’t even on my radar, yet which ended up being many readers’ “Best of 2016” selection. And so, tonight its our first-ever Marvel Jada Toys Metals review of perhaps their best item ever: the Jada Toys Metals Hulkbuster Iron Man figure!

As soon as I saw the Diamond Select Toys Marvel Gallery statues line debut at New York Toy Fair 2016, I knew DST had a future hit on their hands. 9″ Marvel PVC statues with excellent paint applications and sculpting detail at a $45 MSRP seemed like a can’t-lose investment–and thus far, the line does look to be really taking off. And in 2017, look for it to become even more successful: Marvel Gallery Old Man Logan, Netflix Luke Cage and Iron Man statues are now up for order!

Earlier this month we got our first gander at the first wave of 2017 Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy 6″ figures (including the Angela figure two years in the making!). But the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 movie is a pretty big deal, and that means Hasbro has a lot more in store for the franchise than six inch collector figures! And among the offerings are an extension of a niche line with more collectors than you might expect: the Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel Titan Hero 2017 12″ figures!

In my grumpy old age, I don’t have the fervor for pulling blind boxes I did when I was a kid (in college). So I wasn’t enthusiastic when it was announced there were going to be six exclusive Funko X-Men Mystery Minis figures mixed in the Gamestop and Hot Topic assortments. Not wanting to buy 3 cases to complete my set, I decided to test case layouts submitted by readers. Six blind boxes later, my set is complete and the X-Men Mystery Mini case layouts are confirmed…

Of all the characters in the first wave of Spider-Man Marvel Legends 2017 figures, none of them are getting anywhere near the amount of hype as the new inheritor of the name Ms. Marvel–Kamala Khan! The Pakistani-American superheroine has had plenty of buzz around her since she got her powers two years ago, and the time has come for her first articulated action figure! But while Marvel Legends Kamala Khan selling for a mint right now online, is she also a risky purchase…?

I had been planning on today’s Marvel Legends review being the new 6″ Kamala Khan Ms. Marvel figure, but those plans went off the rails when Kamala’s arm peg broke in half at the elbow. And so, while I hunt for a Ms. Marvel replacement, the former Marvel Universe 3.75″ line gets the spotlight instead tonight! The 4″ Marvel Legends Morbius is currently marked down to $3 online from his $12.99 MSRP, but is this figure really all that bad…?

Let’s face facts: we are going to be absolutely buried in Baby Groot merchandise in just a few months. When all is said and done, we’re probably going to see more items featuring that little sapling than every other piece of Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 character put together. So with that in mind, I’ve been waiting to see which Marvel licensee would draw first blood by unveiling the first Baby Groot figure. And while I would have almost placed money on Funko, it’s not them–the NECA Baby Groot Life-Size Replica figure is now up for order!
