Toy Fair 2017: Marvel Gallery Guardians of the Galaxy Statues!

Ordinarily I don’t like to throw around arbitrary awards like “Best in the Show” for the various conventions and events where collectibles companies show off their latest products, but there was one company at New York Toy Fair 2017 that really “wow”-ed me like never before, and that was Diamond Select Toys. Not only did Diamond Select bring surprise additions to their long-running Marvel Select series, but they also debuted over a dozen new Marvel statues at the show and really cemented themselves as a force in the Marvel statue world. And among those new reveals were their first-ever MCU PVC statues: the Marvel Gallery Guardians of the Galaxy statues!

Toy Fair: Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy Wave 2 2017!

I’m not one to put any stock in leaked UPC lists, but when the Hasbro Marvel Legends Ex Nihilo figure was announced last night, that pretty much sealed the deal that the list of 2017 Marvel Legends Guardians of the Galaxy Wave 2 figures that had been circulating for weeks was the real deal and not just a rumor. And at the Hasbro Brand Toy Fair 2017 event today, we got official confirmation and also our first look at the rest of GOTG Marvel Legends Wave 2–including Nebula, Baby Groot and the Mantis Build-A-Figure!

Last night we got our first Marvel Legends reveal of New York Toy Fair 2016 when the Hasbro Guardians of the Galaxy Ex Nihilo figure was revealed. And today, while I’m presently on my way over to the Hasbro Brand Presentation where we’ll be learning about the remainder of their spring/summer 6″ figures, we’ve got another surprise reveal! Coming at least a month early exclusively to Entertainment Earth, the Marvel Legends Ego the Living Planet and Star-Lord two-pack is now up for order!

New York Toy Fair 2017 doesn’t start until Saturday morning, but like many other companies, Diamond Select Toys is diving into the fray and starting the party early! While we’re still going to have to wait until the show to see the new Marvel Select Spider-Man Homecoming and Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 figures, DST has dropped a quartet of major reveals this morning. And hey, not only can we look at these new statues, but the Marvel Gallery Ironheart & Netflix Punisher and Premier Collection Wolverine & Iron Man statues are now up for order!

There may be a crazy snowstorm raging in New York City this morning, but the weather is no match for the power of a Mezco Toys Pre-Toy Fair event! And this year, for the first time ever, Mezco Toyz had a special treat for collectors (and bums like me who weren’t willing to fight the snow to go into New York City this morning): they live-streamed coverage of the event online!
